How To Keep Your Diet on Track When Eating Out

Its hard to stick to a diet when eating out. If you can, try to eat at home as much as possible to insure you are getting food without unwanted added ingredients. If you want to know how to lose weight the fast way, then follow these steps when eating out to keep the weight off and your diet on track. Remember always check with your health care provider before you start any weight loss program.
1) Order your water without ice and with a lime or lemon. Cold water is bad for digestion because it lowers the temperature in your stomach, slowing and impeding digestion. This keeps your body from getting the nutrients it needs, which in turn causes your body to store fat. The most obese people are actually the most undernourished. This is bad news if your trying to lose weight. When eating out, always order water to drink and order it without ice. You can add a lemon or for zest and to aid in digestion.
2) Avoid carbonated beverages. Carbonated sodas, even diet ones, contain sodium. Sodium will cause you to retain water. Sodas also contain sugar and sugar substitutes, both of which cause weight gain. In learning how to lose weight the fast way you will discover that drinking soda’s will set back your weight loss diet goals. Eliminate carbonated beverages from your diet and watch the weight drop too. When dining out, stick with water, tea without sugar, or natural fruit juices that are additive free.
3) Pass on the salt. Don’t add salt to your food and avoid having it added to your food if possible. Ask for the low sodium menu options. Salt makes you retain water because it impedes blood circulation. This can lead to swelling, especially in those that are already suffering from circulation problems due to extra fat. If you are on a diet and want to know how to lose weight the fast way, then stop eating salt altogether. Try other seasonings to add spice to your diet, such as pepper, curry, and spicy salsas. All without salt, of course.
4) Order your food steamed instead of fried. Weight loss for anyone means eliminating greasy, fat saturated foods from the daily diet. Avoid menu items that are fried and instead choose an item that is steamed or baked. Fried foods are loaded in fats and are not beneficial to any diet, especially if you are trying to lose weight. In addition, fried foods are lacking in nutrients, and nutrient poor meals can lead to malnutrition, which causes your body to start storing fats. If all you are eating is fatty food, it will immediately be stored by your body, adding even more weight gain instead of loss.
5) Skip dessert. While dessert is often tempting at the end of a meal, it is best to pass. Instead, treat yourself to a cup of coffee or tea. Caffeine contained in coffee and tea will actually stimulate weight loss. If you can, pass on the sugar though. Avoid sugar substitutes as well because these still contain calories which will not be burned off if you do not partake in a physical activity after consuming them. In addition, some sugar substitutes contain the neurotoxin aspartame, which has become under scrutiny because of its DNA and nerve damaging properties.
Always use your best judgment when eating out. Weight loss for anyone means sticking to a healthy, well balanced diet that is low on fats and salts and high in nutrients and vitamins. Avoid restaurants that offer unhealthy foods and try restaurants where fresh and healthy meals are served. You don’t have to sacrifice taste to eat healthy. You just have to find the right healthy food that you love!
