When you’re trying to lose weight naturally, you need to take advantage of every trick in the book. Therefore, the importance of drinking water for fast weight loss should be taken very seriously as it can definitely help in the quest to drop a few pounds.
Just about every function of the human body requires a certain amount of water. This means that a properly-hydrated body helps those functions take place efficiently and quickly. Every chemical process in the body involves energy metabolism, and drinking water helps make the body feel more energetic and actually boosts its metabolic rate.
It’s believed that drinking plenty of water enables the metabolism to burn off calories at a rate of about three per cent faster. The importance of drinking water for weight loss is magnified when you take into account that most thirst and hunger sensations are set off together. If you’re slightly dehydrated, the body’s thirst mechanism can sometimes be mistaken for hunger. This means that you may actually eat food when your body’s really craving fluids.
Most food have some water in them and if you don’t drink much it’s possible that you could subconsciously eat more to sustain your body with the right amount of water it needs. This is fine, but it means you’ll also be adding on the calories of the food. Drinking more water may help you to stop overeating and you lose weight by not putting it on in the first place.
However, many food products today often contain more amounts of sugar and fats than they do water. This is basically because food is stored for longer periods of time and food that contains a higher amount of water usually spoils quicker. This is true of eggs, milk, fruits, yogurt, and vegetables. This means the body must now get most of its water supply from drinking it.
Most nutrition experts advise people to drink about 64 ounces of water a day, which can be broken down into eight 8-ounce glasses. This will help to keep your metabolism working at a higher rate as you’ll be hydrated and your craving for food should be lower. Some experts feel that you should drink an ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight. For example, a 150 lb. Person would drink 75 ounces of water a day for increased energy and metabolism.
The importance of drinking water for weight loss should also be considered if you’re exercising to lose weight. Water is needed to keep you hydrated and to replace the fluids that you lose through sweating. It’s important that you drink water or other acceptable fluids before, during, and after exercising to help keep your energy levels high and to properly recover after working out.
You can also gain water by consuming fruits that are high in water content. This will also help to fill up your stomach with hardly any calories and it will provide you with a variety of important minerals, vitamins and nutrients to boost vitality. You can also add real fruit juice by squeezing oranges, lemons, and limes in your water if you want to liven up its flavor.
